Group 2 - Day 4 - Movin' On

We had a full schedule so we got up at daylight, ate breakfast and gathered our equipment to set up new stands. 

Fred drove to Big Rock One, named for the lone giant boulder in a sandy clearing beside the road. The bait was blasted into orbit and the sandy clearing had bear tracks of several bears of different sizes. 

Then we drove a few miles down the rough road to Double Rock. Same deal. Tore up bait. Lots of tracks. Bryant Askew set up a Traveling Starr ladder stand for his dad John to hunt from. Then John climbed into the stand and we trimmed a few branches to give him more shooting opportunities.

Last night Bryant had asked about hunting from a Double Bull blind, so we returned to Big Rock One and set up a Double Bull Matrix for Bryant to use.

Once both guys were set up John and Bryant returned to camp and Fred and I baited. Everything looks promising today.

After our 3:00 meal we all went bear hunting. Fred told John to meet him at the turn off for his road. After our hunt we drove to the turn off. John and Bryant drove up in a few minutes. And they both were smiling big.

They had both shot a bear!  To Bryant's Hunt...
