4 - 3 jakes walked in front of my Double Bull blind and went to the
area with the small pebbles and picked away at them. Two more jakes joined
in. Then 3 longbeards came walking up the road. One was the Double Beard
bird. They stopped 60 yards away.
Two hens came to the road and stopped just before my blind. I thought, "Perfect, they will bring in the Double Beard." The Double Beard moved closer and then went into full strut. I put the range finder on it, 34 yards. I wanted a closer shot.. The hens walked past me and continued down the road. The Double Beard followed. I had my laptop with me and after waiting an hour I started doing web stuff. A gobbler surprised me and walked in front of my blind. I didn't stand a chance. So I kept working. And a second longbeard did the same thing. |
