Double
K Guide Service took us hunting for the Merriam's wild turkey on the
Grand Slam bowhunt in 2003. Dave Keiser, the owner, is a top notch wild
turkey hunter & outfitter who understands exactly what it takes for
bowhunters to harvest the Merriam's they came for. He really knows his
area, and that's saying something because Dave hunts thousands of acres.
When Doug Crabtree and I
arrived in camp on the Monday following opening weekend 7 bowhunters were
in camp -- everyone had taken shots and 6 had already harvested a Tom!
Then our group went 4 for 4. That is an excellent success rate in any wild
turkey camp and it is definitely impressive for an all bowhunter camp.
Dave Keiser books 50 bowhunters
a year and has a near 100% success rate. That, my friend, is a tall order
-- and Dave is the man for the job.
I have to mention that Dave
is quite a character. He is congenial, immediately likable, and has a witty
sense of humor that makes him fun to be around.
Double
K Guide Service is one of the best turkey hunting operations in
the country. I recommend it for anyone who wants to wild turkey hunt.

are available over the counter.

Turkey Bowhunts.
Cost
of a non-resident license is $100. Archery tags are unlimited and
can be purchased over the counter. Dave Keiser and his guides use Double
Bull blinds on these bowhunts.
Archery
Antelope: August 16th thru October 30th.
The
cost of a license is $150. Archery tags are unlimited and can
be purchased over the counter. We use blinds on alfalfa fields, spot and
stalk and decoying for our hunts.

Deer: starts September 20 thru December 31.
