| A Wild Hog Bowhunt In Progress - 2003
July 14 , 2003 - Only 15 minutes of daylight was left when the group of wild hogs returned to my food plot late this afternoon. This time I did not take any pictures. Instead I picked up my bow from the get go. They clumped up, two big ones and probably a dozen normal sized hogs. I waited as they moved in and out and around each other, looking for an opening at one of the big ones. Bingo! It happened. I drew and aimed carefully
at its rib cage, holding steady. At the same time that I touched the release
trigger I saw a smaller hog, a black one, lunge forward ... right into
the path of my arrow. It was a good hit though, a solid double lunger.
The entire group raced to the nearest trees and I lost track of them. I
will look for the hog first thing tomorrow morning. It will be a lot easier
to find in the maize of brush to the South where the hogs went.
