| Back At The Hammer Hole:
A faint noise came from the brush in front of me -- it could have been anything. Minutes later a black boar walked out from beneath the low limbs of a cedar tree. To tell the truth, it had been long enough that my brain had drifted out of "alert mode", the boar surprised me. I eased my camera up and took these 3 pictures as the boar walked along the edge of the woods, only 10 yards away from my tripod. The boar turned around -- it was time to shoot. First, I had to ditch my camera. Moving slowly I slipped the camera's strap through a belt loop on my pants and made a simple knot. I didn't want the camera to fall so I pulled the knot tight -- which made a slight noise. The boar ran under the cedars and stopped. It grunted twice and melted into the brush. If I remember right, this is the 3rd time this stealthy wild boar has given me the slip at the Hammer Hole. Man this hog hunting is fun. |
