A Wild Hog Bowhunt In Progress - 2003
May 9, 2003 - Actually I was bowhunting wild turkeys and it was just before roost time. My Double Bull ground blind was set up near the river and I was yelping to see if I could stir up some last minute gobbler interest. I did, but not the wild turkey kind.
Something moved in the brush and I focused my binoculars on it -- the ears and eyes of a wild hog. Shortly, four hogs stepped out: a black, two brownish red and a calico. They were very interested in my turkey decoys!
A brownish red hog turned broadside, I split my 20 and 30 yard pin behind it's shoulder and sent the arrow on it's way. The hogs all vanished.
Seconds later a crash in the brush sounded encouraging to me. I waited to see if I heard any roosted gobblers and did, two Toms gobbled from the dam area. Then I walked into the brush 40 yards and found the hog. Back To Bowhunting.net
