TV Show - Set to Kick Off This Summer
This summer, ladies who love hunting can enter a new realm as WomenHunters
Outdoors hits the airways on KAIT-TV, an ABC affiliate in Arkansas. Later
this fall it will be available to millions of viewers nationwide as it
begins airing on The Sportsmen's Channel.
WomenHunters Editor Wanda Garner says, "We will be very busy over the
next year ... and have trips scheduled all over the US and Alaska. Follow
the ladies as they pursue turkeys in several states, chase whitetails with
bow, rifle, handgun and black powder." The ladies also have hunting trips
planned for Sitka deer, ducks and geese on Kodiak Island, as well as fishing
for Kings, Silvers, and Coho salmon.
The show will be filmed and produced by Tommy Garner of Steppin' Wolf
Productions. Hosts will be Sue Burch, the founder and executive director
of WomenHunters Organization, and Wanda Garner. The show will be co-hosted
by Pro Staff Director Denise Raum and Pro Staff personnel Linda Thompson,
Linda K. Burch, Alyssa Haukom, Claudia Eisenmann, Tracy Ledgerwood, and
Beth Ann Amico. Each of these ladies has her own field of expertise such
as bowhunting, muzzleloading, rifles, and handguns.
WomenHunters Outdoors will focus on all aspects of ladies in the outdoors.
Additionally, prominent inclusions on the show will be getting young people
involved and hunts for the physically challenged.
Sue Burch believes the show to be vital for not only women, but for
the entire sport of hunting itself. She says, "Women hold the key to the
future of hunting."
