Muscles play an important role in every archer's life whether he is a 3-D specialist or hunter.  How we take care of those muscles can mean the difference between a 12 ring or a trophy of a lifetime.

Dave Cole has realized this and has assembled many of today's well-known bowhunters to discuss muscle care and development.   Their collaboration along with Dave's training device, the Bowfit, is available in today's most extensive exercise video for archers, "Archery Fit: Strengthening tips from the Pros".

In "Archery Fit" you will be guided by professionals and top archers such as Tom Nelson, Randy Ulmer, Brenda Valentine, Dwight Schuh, George Chapman, Alexander Kirillov, Joella Bates and and G. Fred Asbell with advice on how to continue your passion of archery through exercise.  They target specific muscle groups explaining their vital role in the important cycle of drawing and shooting your bow.  Each will highlight their favorite workout routines and explain how they will help prevent some of today's plaguing injuries.  These routines will not only include training exercises but also tips that you can use during practice sessions.  These unique tips are extremely helpful in developing those muscles necessary to hold your bow while waiting for the game to present a shot.

Dave Cole, a physical therapist by profession, breaks down what he feels causes the most common muscle injuries.

Dave goes into details on how each is caused and more importantly what you can do to help prevent them.  Helpful hints are introduced, such as taping yourself, which will help discover bow mechanics that can lead to nagging injuries.

Graphs and diagrams are used to help show and explain the necessary muscles that are used during each exercise.  I believe this is not only helpful but vital in education by showing which muscles groups are utilized and are sometimes overlooked.

Bowhunting is a sport just like any other sport that requires muscle strength to perform.  Athletes warm up extensively before they hit the field or court and archery is no different.  So while preparing for next season, which is a year round activity for all archers, I recommend you look into the comprehensive video "Archery Fit: Strengthening tips from the Pros".

Knowledge 5 out of 5
Dave Cole has sought out and assembled many of today's top professionals in the archery industry.  Their knowledge and experiences are combined in exercises and tips that cover every aspect of the archery draw cycle.  G. Fred Asbell even shares a little history on 12th century archery and the effects traditional equipment had on archers.

Techniques and Tips 5 out of 5
Every muscle group that may affect the draw cycle is extensively covered to aid not only in mechanics but to help avoid injury.  Each professional gives numerous tips that should be included in every archer's warm-up routine whether it be before an event or hunt.
