Stealth Archery 8" Hunter Stabilizer

While setting up my bow for the test I was bragging up my current stabilizer to my son and telling him how not even the newest stabilizers on the market had  come close to comparing to it. Then I performed the test and to my amazement the Stealth actually made my bow quieter than my unbeatable stabilizer! Not only that but it made a noticeable difference in hand shock.

Today it seems as though there are 100 different stabilizers on the market all claiming amazing results. Three years ago I found the perfect stabilizer for my Darton Maverick and have not come across anything better since. I have bragged on my stabilizer time after time even after testing dozens of other models. One week ago I received Stealth Archery's 8" Hunter stabilizer and expected much of the same as I have seen from others. Instead, my son and I stood in disbelief after the first round of testing. Read on to find out why?

First, we will go over the basics of Stealth's new stabilizer. As mentioned above it measures 8" in length, which is generally a little longer than I like for my hunting bow. It is constructed from 6061 aircraft grade aluminum and anodized with a flat black finish. The secret to this stabilizer is found in its dual chamber construction. One side of the chamber is partially filled with a proprietary liquid and the other a proprietary granular mix. The reason for the two chambers is to absorb both high and low frequency vibrations that are produced from your bow and attached accessories. Absorbing these vibrations not only quiets your bow but also reduces any hand shock that might be present.

For the first test I simply compared it side by side with my existing stabilizer, which may I remind you has never been beat! This is where the "standing in disbelief" came in. While setting up my bow for the test I was bragging up my stabilizer to my son and telling him how not even the newest stabilizers on the market came close to comparing to it.

Then I performed the test and to my amazement the Stealth actually made my bow quieter than my unbeatable stabilizer (Jaw on floor). My son and I easily heard the difference. Again and again I repeated the test because it surprised me so much. Each time the result was the same - the Stealth outperformed my former favorite! Not only that but it also made a noticeable difference in hand shock.

To make sure there wasn't a catch, I decided to test my arrow grouping compared to my current stabilizer. To do this I shot dozens of arrows into my Cube target with both stabilizers attached to my bow. Not a problem, the Stealth was up to the challenge. My arrow grouping remained unchanged regardless of which stabilizer was being used.

All in all this is a wonderful piece of equipment. The only drawback - its 8" length. The inconvenience of this length (bow will not fit into my SKB bowcase while the stabilizer is attached) can be easily overcome with a quick disconnect. Silence is worth more to me than avoiding a little inconvenience. The Stealth is my new #1!

Design: 4.5 of 5
The performance displayed by the Stealth 8" Hunter proves the design to be above average. If the 6" Hunter can duplicate this performance I will own one of those as well!

Value: 4.5 of 5
At approximately $35.00 the 8" Hunter has an average price among equivalent stabilizers. The performance however makes this a great buy.
