Ladies are you looking for adventure this fall? Would you like to learn outdoor skills from top instructors? If so, than you need to join me in New Mexico at the world famous shooting complex Whittington Center this September.

Whether you are a seasoned huntress or just getting started, you will love what the NRA has to offer women at the Women’s Wilderness Escape (WWE) 2009.

The NRA’s WWE is truly a one-of-a-kind adventure camp designed especially for women. WWE provides hands-on experiences such as archery, tactical rifle, muzzleloader, turkey hunting, long-range rifle, survival skills, treestand safety, mock hunting demos and much more to the participants. Unlike any other outdoor experience the WWE offers training from top instructors, the participants also get the added bonus of learning these skills at one of the country’s premier shooting facilities, the NRA’s Whittington Center.

Come join me again this year in New Mexico  as I introduce more ladies about archery and hunting.

For All Women … From All Walks Of Life

Mark your calendar! The second annual NRA Women’s Wilderness Escape will be held September 24 – October 2, 2009.

Women's Wilderness Escape

The Wilderness Escape provides women 18 and older with a nine-day “get away” opportunity to experience the softer side of firearm education with exposure to a wide variety of shooting sports activities and an array of enticing hunting and outdoor related activities. It’s an adventure you’ll want to repeat again and again!

No experience is necessary, and all firearms and ammunition are provided for you. You’ll learn to shoot smallbore rifle silhouette, scoped/tactical carbine, long-range high power rifle, conventional and tactical pistol, historic firearms, shotgun (five-stand), and archery. Other activities being planned may include an NRA Wild Turkey Hunter Clinic, ‘Refuse To Be A Victim’ Seminar, survival training, game calling, tree stand safety, mock hunt, stargazing, and GPS navigation. It’s a hands-on learning experience just for you. You may even spend an evening camped out under the Rocky Mountain stars, if the weather is favorable.

Women attending the Wilderness Escape will be guided by some of the most skilled firearms instructors and outdoor specialists in the country. And it all happens at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico.

NRA's Whittington Center

The NRA Whittington Center is without a doubt the finest shooting complex in the nation. Its 33,000 acres nest among the scenic western mountains and high mesa country of New Mexico. While staying at the Whittington Center, you’ll share a room in the Competitor Housing Complex, eat in the dining facility, and anticipate the unscheduled early morning and evening escapades of the deer, elk and antelope that call the Center home. Food, housing, guns, ammunition, targets, classes, camping, mock hunt, evening activities, instructors, demonstrations, and adventures are all included in the fee. All you have to do is get there. Participants provide their own transportation to and from the Whittington Center and during the event. Space is limited to fifty women and reservations fill quickly, so grab a friend and COME JOIN US for the second annual NRA Women’s Wilderness Escape!

Click here to request an NRA Women’s Wilderness Escape information packet and application.

Registration is still open, for more information visit the NRA’s Women’s Program Web site at: NRA Women and look for the WWE arrowhead logo.
