Deerassic Park in Cambridge, OH will be the host location for the 8th Annual Deerassic Classic Giveaway and Outdoor Expo this Friday and Saturday, August the 6 and 7, 2010. The event is held on the grounds of Deerassic Park Education Center at 14250 Cadiz Road (State Route 22) in Cambridge, OH. All proceeds go to benefit and provide operating capital for the Deerassic Park Education Center which is the Home of the Future Ohio Whitetail Hall-of-Fame Museum.
The National Whitetail Deer Education Foundation is a 501C-3 non-profit organization founded in 1996 with the mission to inspire lifetime learning and a sustained curiosity and respect for all of nature and the outdoors. This weekend’s events are the primary means of funding for the foundation’s activities.
There will be over 410 prizes valued at over $700,000 given away during the two days. The biggest bang for your buck is Package # 2 (The Gold Combo) which can be purchased for $200 for which you receive: 1 Classic (drawings and admission on Saturday), 1 Big Buck Bonus Ticket (drawings and admission on Friday) and 6 Loot & Shoot Raffles and 3 ATV Raffles. There will be many additional side raffles including the world’s largest 50/50 drawing. New for 2010 will be a $75,000 grand prize. Any other contributions are tax deductible.

The week’s events are kicked off with Joella Bates and Bob Hart providing an FREE archery and shooting event at Dunning Motor Sales in Cambridge with free refreshments, door prizes and last minute tickets for sale. Michael Warren, an area artist, will be on hand to draw caricatures of the kids. On Thursday evening be sure to attend the FREE Campground Party and Concert with rising stars Frankie Ballard and Tom Jackson.
On Friday the headliner concert will be LoCash Cowboys and local favorite Ruff Creek. Saturday’s Concerts will feature Daryle Singletary and the Double Barrel Tour with Andy Griggs and Rhett Akins. Deerassic’s own celebrity spokesperson, Irlene Mandrell will be on hand throughout the weekend with special autograph signings and guest stage appearances. This is a party that you don’t want to miss. Everyone will be a winner with the top notch entertainment and all proceeds supporting the perpetuation of our outdoor heritage that the event will be funding so outdoor conservation educational opportunities can be expanded at the park and throughout the region.
There are still a very limited number of tickets available, but expected to sell out before the gates open at noon on Friday. There will be $20 admission tickets available at the gate. Over 25,000 adults are expected to attend the event that supports free or low cost programs at the facility or at special events around the area. Throughout the year there are many programs for children and families, but for this one week, there will be no one under 18 years of age allowed on the grounds.
