David Mills picked us up at the Fort Myers airport and we drove to Williams Wildlife Preserve near Arcadia, Florida.

David Mills drove us to the hunting lodge.

We took our luggage and gear into the spacious lodge (6,000 square feet) and talked way longer than we should have, considering we had to get up at daybreak in the morning.
But we were up and at ’em just the same. This is a different type alligator hunt than I have been on before. Williams Wildlife Preserve is a massive 18,000 acre open range, farm and ranch. The part we went to this morning has a winding network of channels that is miles and miles long.
We drove along and watched the channels for alligators.
When we glassed an alligator in a channel we stopped and slipped up on it. Or at least that is our plan. Sometimes the gator has other ideas. Here is the first gator we hunted. You can see it  along the edge, it’s the dark spot.
We used the brush growing on the channel’s levies and slipped along to get in bow range. The gator hung tight long enough to get its picture taken.
But at shooting time the gator gave us the slip and went underwater.
We drove on, checking the channels carefully for alligators.
We did not have to drive far. CONTINUED…

Hey Robert,
Sue Burch wants some gator meat and my Sue is asking about an alligator purse. I would love a pair of alligator boots. Just putting it out there. Kill a big one ok?
And I was thinking it would be pretty cool to take a Gator tooth and put it on a necklace!!!
