Bill with wife Sherry.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bill Krenz, editor and together with his wife Sherry founded and published Inside Archery and Bowhunt America magazines.

The archery industry knew him as an industry leader, a brilliant writer and editor who had years of experience working for some of the top companies in the industry. Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, a passionate outdoorsman who lived and breathed bowhunting, a mentor, a source of inspiration and a friend. Words cannot express how deeply he will be missed.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sherry; his children, Tracey, Tyler, Tara, Travis and daughter-in law Heather; and his four grandchildren, Rachael, Colton, Maquel and Isabelle.

Bill celebrated his 58th birthday yesterday.

From all of our family at Bowhunting.net we wish to extend to Sherry, the family and employees our most sincere condolences.

Most of you don’t know but I worked with Bill in the archery industry while Bill was @ PSE, where Bill was running the PSE Pro Shop, and then when Bill went to Hoyt, he was my sales manager and later my V.P. of Sales & Marketing then when Bill went to Bear Archery as V.P. of Sales & Marketing I again worked for Bill and I never had a better Boss and friend. I had the rare opportunity to hunt Antelope, Whitetail Deer, Mule Deer and Turkeys with Bill. Monday, the archery industry lost a Icon and true friend. Bill, God Bless you and i do hope you’r shooting arrows everyday wherever the good lord placed you. We will miss you.

Bill was known for his ability to put the spotlight on others…. he was selfless. He had done great things in this industry but usually stayed away from the limelight. He and Sherry made a dynamic duo and their “INSIDE ARCHERY” and “BOWHUNT AMERICA” magazines were a refreshing addition to the sport.

I answered to Bill in the late 1980’s as a Hoyt Pro Staff shooter. He was a great man and will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sherry and the family.

    RIP Bill.

    Shoot Straight,
    Frank Addington, Jr.

This is Bill’s wife, Sherry. Thank you for all the kinds words I’m reading here about Bill. It has now been confirmed that Bill passed away from a heart attack. We had some concerns this past summer and Bill had several heart tests, all of which showed normal… no problems detected.

Bill and I had 22 wonderful years together… a beloved husband, a supportive and encouraging father, and a fun-loving “Papa.” Bill was deeply loved and respected by his family and, from what I’m reading, many others too.

His obituary can be found at http://www.mem.com, and I will read and cherish any comments that are added about Bill.

I will love you forever, Bill.
