Each year Muzzy Products Corporation bestows its prestigious Tall Man Award to someone who “stands tall” among his or her peers by contributing to the community and going above and beyond to promote and protect the future of archery and bow hunting. This year Muzzy is proud to present the award at the 2011 ATA show in Indianapolis, Ind. to Muzzy Pro Staffer Robie Pruitt, a volunteer and advisory board member for the United Special Sportsman’s Alliance.

The award will be presented at the Muzzy ATA Show booth at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011.
Pruitt has volunteered with the organization for six years teaching archery classes and guiding children with special challenges or critical illnesses on deer, turkey and bear hunts.

“It’s hard to describe what an honor it is to be chosen for this award,” Pruitt says. “I’ve been a bowhunter all my life, and I’ve always followed the Tall Man winners. I never dreamed I’d ever be chosen, and it is the highlight of my hunting life. Thanks to Muzzy and to all my family and friends who have supported me as a Muzzy hunter.”
The U.S.S.A is the largest dream wish charity in the world specializing in sending critically ill and disabled youth on the outdoor adventure of their dreams. The 100% volunteer organization also teaches children firearm and archery safety during its summer events.
“If I can make one of these little special kids forget about his or her sickness, even if for only one day, I feel like I’ve done my part,” Pruitt says. “There’s nothing like helping a special little boy or girl fulfill a dream right in front of you. I might be a mentor to these kids, but actually they’re the ones teaching me how to be a better person and how to love people you hardly know.”
