The Ontario Fall Bear Season – Arrival At Camp
At 3:30 Sunday morning the Chef picked us up at Fred’s house and we went on the road to our 2011 Canadian black bear bowhunt. We arrived at Canadian Customs in Lake Francis, Ontario and checked in there. Our bear camp is another 90 miles and we drove there and unloaded our gear and got set up in the outpost lodge that will be our home for the next 2 weeks.
Monday morning we went to Atikokan, Ontario and checked in at Bud Dickson’s Canoe Canada Outfitters (where I will update about the bear hunt every day possible.) Canoe Canada is out bear outfitter. Fred Lutger runs this particular hunt and he has brought bear hunters to this deep wilderness area for 25 years.
Here is one of the “Trophy Oar” walls at Canoe Canada headquarters. People who have and expiditions, canoe adventures, fishing trips of a lifetime sign their oars for placement on the trophy wall. The moose is a nice trophy also.
When people come for fishing trips and expeditions they arrive here and their adventrue begins.

We got our bear licenses and last minute stuff and returned to our outpost lodge.
Chef Klaus cooked up dinner today and everyone hit the hay. Tomorrow morning we were checking the baits that would be hunted this year and get a handle on what to expect on our bear trip in 2011.
