Leupold® received the Optic of the Year and Hunting Product of the Year awards at the 20th Annual Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence ceremony.

Optic of the Year winner is Leupold’s VX-R™ 3-9x40mm riflescope. Hunting Product of the Year is a Leupold Rangefinder, the RX®-1000i TBR® with Digitally eNhanced Accuracy (DNA).

The 500-member voting Academy of Excellence considered a record 193 entries in 14 categories. Winners were selected from among three finalists in each category.

“Optics and hunting are at the core of Leupold, so we are very excited and proud to win these awards,” commented Pat Mundy, communications manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “The Academy of Excellence awards have real significance because they reflect the judgment of manufacturers, distributors, executives, dealers and outdoor writers nationwide.”

VX-R rifle scopes combine a state-of-the-art illumination system and an exclusive FireDot™ reticle to provide hunters with exceptional target acquisition, in the bright light of day as well as the low light of dawn or dusk. Powered by an exclusive new rangefinder engine technology, the RX-1000i with DNA fits in a shirt pocket, yet offers hunters and shooters increased ranging precision and speed, along with an exceptionally bright target image.
