This morning I watched an area near my food plot that is a hill side. I call it the “Hill”. Once again there were deer around the food plot before daylight. They all cleared out before real daylight arrived.

A little later movement in the brush caught my eye and this 8-pt buck came into view about 50 yards away. I turned on the video camera and aimed it at the buck (see below) and got this picture.

After it looked around the area the buck went to making a scrape. The two dark objects immediately behind the buck are dirt that he is raking up and tossing behind himself.

After throwing some dirt around the buck urinated on its hocks.

Then he stuck his nose up and curled his lip.

When he started licking branches and twigs around him I zoomed in hopes you would be able to see him in action.

When he started licking branches and twigs around him I think you will agree he has a heck of a licker on him.

Soon the 8-point had everything to his liking.

And then he walked into the woods. I figured he was gone for now. But I was wrong. He saw or smelled a buck that I hadn’t seen yet and was on the way over to try to twist its antlers off its head.

AND, you might remember that I said I videoed the buck. Well, I did. And here it is.
