From: Diane Miller – Executive Director Archery Hall of Fame.

Little John DiMura from Syracuse, NY has passed away.  A local archery pioneer, Little John  an archery pro in the 60’s and 70’s working for Robin Hood Archery and was a long time member of the Professional Archers Association.  When a surgical procedure on his neck in the early 70’s paralyzed him from the chest down, he was forced to spend the rest of his life in a wheel chair. After his disability Little John opened an archery shop in Syracuse and was directly responsible for outfitting, training and mentoring hundreds of bowhunters until he closed his shop a few years ago for health reasons.

John was instrumental in lobbying for the law that allowed disabled archers to use a draw lock device and he developed equipment to allow wheelchair confined bowhunters to hunt again. Little John was issued the first disabled archers permit by NY State.

Little Johns wife Sherry requests memorial donations be sent to the Archery Hall of Fame.
