The annual NWTF (National Wild Turkey Federaton) convention and sport show is always an enjoyable event. There is so much to do and so many people in attendance it’s impossible to see it all and do everything. The attendance normally tops 40,000 during the Friday, Saturday and Sunday show.
My main focus this year was to see what new turkey hunting products there were, as well as to say hello and visit with industry friends and catch up with what’s going on with them.
Billy Don Van Cleave and I drove to the show and on Friday morning we met Fred Lutger and his fiancee Kathleen and we ate breakfast at the Bob Evans across from the show headquarters at Gaylord Opreyland Resort. Afterward we hunted down my friend Kindell Keeton who is calling in this year’s calling competions. Kindell is the youngest competitor in the Senior Division of callers.
We watched the Head to Head calling competition and Kindell hung tough and finished #4, right there with the big dogs of the turkey calling world.

And here is Kindell with his fine 2012 NWTF trophy.

So Kindell, well done. And good luck tomorrow in the Champion of Champions competition.
You are the man Kindell! Congrats!
