Really?? Midway is a great company worthy of any sportmans support-
However, for this webisite to post a “Gotcha” ad that boasts up to 83 percent off is re-dam-diculous.
One item for that percentage off- a “Saeco Replacement Thrust Washer>” Again, Really?? For the 2 people who know what that is, great. For the rest of us, stop wasting our time with nonsensical advertising.
Excuse me Dean, exactly what are you upset about? First MidwayUSA is a legitimate company that does more for the shooting sports than all the other retailers combined and worthy of our support. Second, this is a great promotion for sportsmen and women who are also shoot firearms in addition to archery. Third, this is not an advertisement but a notice of a sale. An advertisement is paid for, this was not paid for by MidwayUSA. finally, I’m pretty sure that not everything you gain information from, Print, internet, radio and TV exactly fits your particular needs or wants. I guess I don’t understand why you would take the time and effort to slam a news item that offers a large percent off items, even if those items are not of interest to you personally. I’ll tell you something else Dean, if we had 50 more companies as committed to our sport and a generous as MidwayUSA is we would have more people hunting, shooting and less talk of taking our rights to do both away. BHN is in the information business Dean, I’m sorry this particular bit of information was of no value to you.
Rich,
You have used a great deal of artistic license in your reply to my post. I think you may have read what you wanted and not what I wrote. I may not have articulated myself clearly.
Like I said, Midway is a great company and one that I am a frequent customer. That is what drew me to the advertisment. But when I see a 50 cent washer being the only item for 83 percent off, I consider that a somewhat disingenuous lead-in that is not needed. Being critical of that advertisment doesn’t imply that I don’t support what anyone who is a fan of your site(like me) obviously does.
We can discuss all day the semantics of “advertisment” verses “notice of sale” that I’m sure would bore anyone reading our posts. In fact, I will defer to you on that,
I will end by say that I throughly enjoy this site and find it informative.
Well I’m certainly happy to hear you enjoy bhn. I guess I’m confused that you saw only a Washer for sale with the discount. There are 266 new items just added yesterday. The link takes you to a page with 2,706 discounted items from hunting, shooting, archery, camping, etc. Then there are other specials for Leupold, a sweepstakes, bullets and LaserMax. That’s a lot of discounted items. And while that Washer may not be important to you I’ll bet there are thousands of shooters chomping at the bit to take advantage of that 83% price reduction. And, having a graduate degree in Advertising, the first thing I learned was the difference between an advertisement and other forms of notices was the term; paid for. Just want to clear that up. See, more valuable information you can use in the future. Thanks for the comments Dean. I’m pretty protective over the site and our advertisers and contributors but I do appreciate you taking your time to voice your opinion. And I am protective over that too. Thank you.
