Every once in a while, a new product comes along that revolutionizes the industry. Every company claims yearly to have one or more of those products, but most end up being not much more than a fad. Trophy Ridge has definitely hit the mark with the Judge horizontal 5-pin sight. Be warned, reading this review is probably going to cause you to run right out and buy one of these magnificent sights!

So, what makes Trophy Ridge Judge special? What sets it out in front of the pack in a field that is loaded with competitors? It is all about the design, and without a doubt, the design of this sight is by far the most advanced design of any sight on the market.
Remember all of those days you spent working on getting your bow “dialed in”? Well, kiss those days goodbye! Spend your time in the field instead of at the range. The Judge® utilizes the most technologically advanced sighting system ever designed. Can you imagine putting a sight on your new bow (or your old one), walking out to your backyard range, and having your bow set up and ready to go in less than 10 minutes? Well, if you can’t, you better rethink the sights you have on your bow!
Setting up the Judge is simple and easy. Once you have the sight
installed on your bow, you start by sighting in your 20 yard pin using the micro vertical and horizontal adjustments.
Once you have done this, use the Master Adjustment Knob to sight-in your 30 yard pin. All the other pins move into position automatically.
After step two then we …. No wait …. That’s it! As we adjusted the 30 yard pin – the 40, 50 and 60 yard pins sighted themselves in. The lead screw adjustment sights in the remaining distances with ultra accuracy, allowing you to spend less time sighting in and more time in the field. Two pins sighted in, FIVE pins ready to deal out some Carnage!
Can that really be true? Here is the proof. This group was shot 9 minutes after I started sighting in the 20 yard pin, in low light at 60 yards!
OK, so you are saying to yourself “the extra time saved is all fine and dandy, but you only have to sight in once so that really isn’t that big of a deal”. Well, let’s think about that for a minute. My home is at about 3500 feet above sea level. My deer hunting area is at about 6000 feet above sea level. My elk hunting spot is over 8000 feet above sea level. Do you really think your arrows drop the same at 9000 feet as they do at 3500 feet? Obviously they do not.
Each year, after shooting for months down here in the low lands, I spend the first day of elk camp making the necessary elevation adjustments to my sights. Now, with the Trophy Ridge Judge, I can be done with that before everyone else even gets started and have another day of scouting time immediately before the hunt, giving me one more advantage over everyone else on public lands. Is that not what the equipment we buy each year is supposed to do for us? And of course, the next week when I hit my deer unit with the hunt already in progress, I will be re-adjusted and ready to go in less than 10 minutes again. Now that is equipment that works for me!
If that is not enough to make you rush right out and get one, the Judge is also loaded with additional features. It has a clear fiber optic ring on the front which soaks up every available bit of light to produce the brightest pins Trophy Ridge has ever offered.
The housing also accepts the exclusive rheostat sight light that
can be adjusted to the shooters desired amount of light by channeling the light through the no snag fiber optics system, exposing your pins and not your position.
The outer ring on the sight window glows in the dark and the adjustable sight mount allows you to adjust the distance of the sight from the riser for optimum sight accuracy and clarity, and to attach and detach quickly. All of the best components in the industry and much more come standard with this magnificent sight!
Overall, I would not only highly recommend the Trophy Ridge Judge 5-Pin Sight to everyone, I would even go farther to say that this will be the only sight I will be using from now on (well, until Trophy Ridge comes up with a 7 pin sight designed the same way). This sight is an industry changer! Trophy Ridge has done a fantastic job in designing this sight. This is what happens when real engineers build hunting products!
