Yesterday it rained us out and I didn’t hunt. This morning Ben Pinkham and I ate a hearty breakfast at a place called the 95. At 1:00 we went to a new area and followed the trail in. The bait was creamed and Ben refreshened it.
I put my bow and backpack in the Pop-Up ground blind and got inside. I shifted it around a little bit and got ready to hunt. An hour later I heard a loud crack of a limb to the left of the blind. There were a few other bear sounding noises and it got quiet again.
Three sides of the blind are closed up and the 4th side has a shooting window. I waited quietly in the blind and eventually darkness began to settle in. I met Ben at our meeting place and we drove back to hunt headquarters.
