Larry & Brenda Potterfield Welcome Gateway Gun Club Youth Shooters

Members of the youth shooting team from the Gateway Gun Club in Bridgeton, Missouri traveled to MidwayUSA to visit with owners Larry and Brenda Potterfield.

In partnership with the MidwayUSA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, charitable organization established by Larry and Brenda Potterfield in 2007, and the Scholastic Shooting Trust (SST) Fund, the Potterfield’s presented the Youth Shooters with a check for $15,000, part of a fundraising effort where the club members raised money by selling raffles tickets to sell a set of four Winchester rifles. The SST was started in 2008 by Larry and Brenda Potterfield as an endowment within the MidwayUSA Foundation as one of their ways of giving back to the shooting industry. For any donation made to a school shooting team, Larry and Brenda match the amount 3:1.

“Pulling the trigger has always been an important part of my life from the time I was able to hold a gun,” said Larry Potterfield. “Brenda and I like to give money away to people and places that we think will help change the future and we think young folks being able to participate in the shooting sports is good for America.”
After the check presentation, the youth shooters, their parents and coaches also took a tour of the MidwayUSA logistics facility, GunTec and the Customer Pick-Up Area.

“Gateway Gun Club Youth Shooters thanks the Potterfield family for their generous matching gift to our trust fund,” said Head Coach Ken Karcher. “Our team will greatly benefit from the funds raised and the on-going support we will receive from our trust fund. Youth shooting is making great strides forward, and the Potterfields are leading the way!”
