Last week as well as a few days this week we’ve actually had some good rain. Wonder of wonders the river down the hill 400 yards (that has been dry for over a year) now has water flowing in it. And the trees and brush and ground is greening up with new growth.
Today at 11:45 I noticed some deer back in the woods that were coming in my direction. A nice stand of yellow wild flowers was between us and the edge of it was 15 yards from me. I got my camera ready. There were 6 does total and they leisurely meandered by my hiding place.
The deer were spread out. This doe was the furthest away.
Plenty of edible new growth is coming up all around. The doe in this picture found some new green goodies to nibble on.
These two does are browsing around in my food plot area. Apparenbtly I’ve got some volunteer perennials growing there.
As you may have noticed the yellow flowers are pretty high. This deer is almost unnoticable in them.
One of the food plot does is leaving.
The other one went out in the flowers and stoppe when mother nature called.
This one is hard to see.
And so is this one but it’s a lot closer.
And here is my favorite picture. A doe in the April flowers after some April showers.
And that is a quick view of the deer woods on April 4.
