The correct way to establish if you’re Right or Left Eye Dominant:

By: Jim Miller

One of the most important points a new bowhunter (no matter your age) must know when they go into a pro shop or any business that sells bows is if you are “right or left eye Dominant”

The easiest way to do this is extend your arms forward and put your hands together so they form a round opening. With both eyes open look through the opening in your hands and focus on a small object 10 or so feet away. Close your left eye. If object you are focused on is unchanged, you are right eye dominant. If the object jumps out of sight, you are left eye dominant.

To double check your finding, open both eyes and refocus on the object through the opening in your hands only this time close your right eye. If you are left eye dominant the results will be exactly reversed.
