By reducing arrow flex (Dynamic Arrow Spine) you can control your broadheads better in flight. That is exactly what Carbon Express has accomplished with the new Maxima® RED™ arrow shafts.

According to Carbon Express the area that is red on the shaft is the area that manages the shaft during flight which is also called dynamic Spine as well. Basically, you can say an object at rest tends to stay at rest. Well, unless acted upon by a force and that force is your bow and your resistance is your broadhead. So, when and arrow is shot from the bow the motion is forward and your broadhead is your resistance and thus is why your arrow flexes. So, by decreasing the flex you get better flight accuracy shooting your broadhead.

So, Carbon Express has “stiffened the front end of the arrow shaft which repositions arrow flex to the RED ZONE™ and reduces oscillation on the front end to make broadheads shoot more consistently”, which in turn gives you better accuracy and better broadhead performance.

Personally, I put my Muzzy 100 grain 3 blade broadhead on all six and found all six spun great. Next I took one of my Muzzy broadheads and put on each shaft one at a time and found that each one flew very consistently of each other, grouping with in a 3 inch circle at 25 yards. Adjusting my bow was very minimal not like past years with some arrows/broadheads.

Straightness out of the box is +/- 0.0025” and Carbon Express states this is a maximum not and average. Standard on every Maxima® RED™ arrow shaft are LAUNCHPAD™ Precision Nocks, Blazer® vanes and BullDog™ Nock Collars. Grain weight for the 250’s is 8.11 gpi/spine .417” and the 350’s are 9.07 gpi/spine .342”.

Also, cost for these arrows run a hefty $85.00 a half dozen but to relieve some of the stress on the wallet or pocket book a rebate is currently available for the Maxima® RED™ arrows until December 31st of this year at: http://carbonexpressarrows.com/matthews-bowmaxima-arrow-rebate.

In closing I have shot Carbon Express and other arrows and have been a fan of the Maxima Hunters and the Blue Streaks but these new Maxima® RED™ arrow shafts have recently work for me and flew right where I aimed on a buck this year. The Red Zone had just gotten redder…
