A few weeks back I was in my stand and the temperature started dropping like a rock! A hardcore Blue Norther was moving in and the temperature was plummeting. Two hours into the hunt, my feet were frozen. It brought back memories of playing Hockey in Illinois on the farm ponds when my feet would freeze beyond ridiculous. I quit the hunt early because I could not take it anymore. Driving back to Dallas/Ft. Worth I was thinking, I have to get something to put in my boots to keep my feet warm. I have tried a couple types of electric socks and they didn’t work worth a flip. I have also used the packets that you shake up and put in your boots. They get to hot and make my feet sweat making it very uncomfortable.
On the drive home I stopped by Cabelas and went back to the shoe section, looking at the various foot warmer options. Going through the several products Cabela’s had I just wasn’t quite ready to pull the trigger so I boogied home. Immediately, I went on the internet and did some lengthy research and decided I was going with the ThermaCELL Heated Insoles I had seen on bowhunting.net. I knew that ThermaCELL invented the mosquito resistant applicator, which is the greatest invention since sliced bread. (Anyone who hunts during the warm weather should have one) I figured if their heated insoles worked half as good at warming my feet as the ThermCELL did at keeping mosquitos away, it would be awesome. I placed my order and began the short wait.
My ThermaCELL Heated Insoles arrived and I could not wait to try them out. They were simple to use and are wireless, that’s right wireless! The heated insoles feature a wireless remote control and rechargeable, state-of-the-art lithium-Ion battery embedded in each insole. You simply touch a button to the setting of warmth you want. There are three settings, High (111 degrees) Medium (100 degrees) and a no heat setting. It takes very little time to get the insoles warm once you punch in the desired warmth. Another nice feature is both settings do not get too hot making your feet sweat.

The charge on the insoles will usually last around 5 hours. To charge the insoles you simply plug them in to the Global Charger. You can charge both insoles at the same time which takes approximately 3 hours and you are ready to go again. This is an award winning product and they are affordable at about $130. The ThermCELL Heated Insoles box comes with two heated insoles, one remote control, one global charger, one lanyard, one drawstring travel bag and an instruction booklet. The purchase price is very reasonable, depending on where you buy them.
