To me, hunting is about lots more than the “big ones” or the “trophy class” ones. Sure, when I’m bowhunting wild turkeys I love my encounters with mature, Longbeard gobblers; but I love seeing Jakes and Hens too. They have given me great enjoyment and many vivid memories. They’ve taught me a bunch too.
Here’s a good looking Jake that I videoed when Fred Lutger and I were bowhunting in Nebraska this year. I call him “Cool Jake”, cause he is.
