Upon arrival in Johannesburg, our driver Bennie from Dries Visser Safaris was waiting to pick us up and take us to the camp we would be hunting from. We had one problem though, my bow had not shown up. I was thinking we had flown all this way and now I was without one of the most important parts of my luggage. While I was concerned, Bennie went into action going back and forth with the airline people. The end result was, when we got back in the van to go to camp, my bow was with me.

The drive was not only comfortable but incredibly scenic. Even after our long flight the ride was a pleasure we all enjoyed. The camp we stayed at was brand new and run by a wonderful lady named Magda who, with her team did everything possible to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They succeeded in every way. My wife is not an outdoors person and the camp could not have been a better fit for her. Our room and bathroom were very nice and the great room had a special family atmosphere to it.

The food was excellent all week and everyone went out of their way to take care of my wife while I was hunting during the day. My PH was named William and he was an extremely personable, knowledgeable, witty and an enjoyable person to spend time with during the trip.

Speaking of the hunting, it was a ton of fun and great to see so many different types of animals. The property we hunted on was beautiful and loaded with game. You can tell that they cater to bowhunters as all of the sets were strategically placed with the wind and water in mind. We saw shooter animals every day and my favorite to watch was the warthog, especially when they ran with their tails sticking straight up in the air. We will go back again soon and will absolutely hunt with Dries Visser Safaris again.

Thanks to everyone at Dries Visser Safaris for making this such a special trip for both myself and my wife!
