PineHill Archery Club hosted the Indiana Central Regional Tournament over the weekend in Danville, IN. with a record setting 102 archers in attendance.

“What a great tournament,” says Scott Starnes, Indiana Central Tournament Director. This was my first regional as Tournament Director and I have to admit that I was a little nervous. With great support from my wife Dee and numerous friends, we were able to pull it off. We had to start about 40 minutes late due to weather, but it all worked out and we had a dryday of shooting. Big thanks to the members at Pinehill Archery Club for all the work they did in preparation for this event and
for making everyone feel at home.”
Derek Marshall, the Indiana state coordinator added, “The popularity and rapid growth of S3DA in Indiana was evident on May 7th at our Central Regional tournament. This is the third straight tournament that has set an attendance record this year!”

Started in December 2012 by the Scholastic Archery Association, S3DA has grown exponentially as a next step program to follow introductory programs offered as part of 4-H or the National Archery in Schools Program. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting.

The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers, grades 3–12.
