The Pope and Young Club would like to congratulate Dawn Traub of Wisconsin and Dan McClure of Georgia for winning the Pope and Young Club 2016 Super Hunt Drawing. The Pope and Young
Club offered two exciting hunting adventures as part of the 2016 P&Y Super Hunt Drawing. One hundred percent of the funds raised through the sale of hunt-drawing tickets go directly to Pope and Young Club’s Conservation, Education and Outreach Programs.
Dawn Traub won the Grand Prize in the P&Y 2016 Super Hunt Drawing. Dawn will go on a 10-day Trophy Mountain Caribou Hunt with world renowned Nahanni Butte/NWT Outfitters. This hunt will take Dawn to the remote backcountry of the Northwest Territories to pursue the mighty mountain caribou. Dawn will hunt on 9,700 square miles of road-less wilderness for the most coveted caribou species in North America.

“When I first got the call from Pope and Young I was surprised and delighted that I had won the caribou hunt with NWT Outfitters,” said Traub. “I have been lucky enough in the past few years to draw some nice tags, but I’ve never drawn anything that even comes close to this. I am very hopeful that this will be my chance to not only harvest a caribou, but will also be an extremely exciting adventure that will be one of the highlights of my hunting career. We always support Pope and Young by purchasing raffle tickets and this year we really wanted to show our support after going to the Bowhunters Rendezvous. Thank you so much for providing me the opportunity to win the hunt of a lifetime.”
Dan McClure won the Second Prize in the P&Y 2016 Super Hunt Drawing. Dan will go on a superb desert hunt in the outback of Sonora, Mexico, for giant trophy-class mule deer, with Trails and Trophies Outfitters. This sixday hunt, valued at $10,000, will take Dan to some of the finest mule deer country in the world, pursuing big, free-ranging bucks amid 84,000 acres of raw Mexican desert habitat, all with an outfitter that specializes in top bowhunting success and personalized service.

“I received the call from Pope and Young on the eve of my birthday,” stated McClure. “Although there’s never a bad time to receive a call like this, the news that I had won a 6-day mule deer hunt just made my day. I live in the southeast and am a passionate whitetail hunter. I’ve never had an opportunity to hunt mule deer, and a mule deer hunt of this caliber is something that has been on my bucket list for quite some time. I’m grateful to Pope and Young for helping to make this happen for me, and I’m looking forward to the experience.”
