The Pope and Young Club is proud to announce Christian Hunters of America as the recipient of the 2017 Stewardship Award. The Stewardship Award is given to a bowhunter or bowhunting organization that, by their actions, has conveyed a positive, good citizenship image to the hunting and non-hunting public. Christian Hunters of America is just such an organization.
“Christian Hunters of America specializes in Christian-based events and seminars that are family friendly and promote the values of God and bowhunting,” said Merritt Compton, Conservation Chairman for The Pope and Young Club. “Based in Arizona, this organization hosts an annual Javelina how-to seminar, capped off with a mentored Javelina camp. From turkey seminars to elk and antelope how-to seminars, Christian Hunters of America help make sure hunters are prepared for the upcoming seasons. In late March, this organization also partners with the Arizona Game and Fish Department to offer a 3-D archery course at the Department’s Annual Outdoor Expo. The average attendance for this two-day event is over 40,000 attendees.”

“On behalf of the Christian Hunters of America, it was an honor to accept an outward award for what is inward in our members hearts,” said Corky Richardson, member of the Board of Directors for the Christian Hunters Of America. “We try to reflect the love of Jesus Christ and strive to be servants to our fellow man, the Bowhunting community and the hunters of America. Thank you for the opportunity to serve the Pope and Young Club. It was a privilege and an honor to be around such a brotherhood of members who give back and really care about conservation. Attitude is everything and the P and Y has it, as we all should. Thank you again and may God get all the glory.”
The Pope and Young Club is a non-profit North American conservation and bowhunting organization dedicated to the promotion and protection of bowhunting by striving to increase awareness and appreciation of bowhunting foundations, principles and values. The Pope and Young Club is focused on Fair Chase hunting ethics that support the ethical pursuit of free ranging, wild game animals without unfair advantage while promoting the conservation of both habitat and wildlife. The Club also maintains the universally recognized repository of records and statistics on North American big game animals harvested with a bow and arrow.
