A young buck caught my attention as he moved through my area this morning. He went slow and easy and was hard to see in the tall weeds he was going through.
Ten minutes later another young buck walked along the woods line.
Then a doe walked towards me like I had her on a string.
And a ways further another doe walked in the tall stuff. She is pretty thin behind her ribs. She probably has recently birthed a couple of fawns.
And here is a different fawn scratching an itch.
When she got the itch taken care of she walked away.
The area in the weeds was busy this morning. Here is a doe followed by her spotted fawn.
In a different direction I see a young buck browsing on some out of sight greenery.
Things carry on and a young 7-pointer, soon to be an 8, has a look around.
Finally, to the north, some does ease through along the edge of the trees.
So that’s the story in the deer woods this morning.
