I have a Cape Buffalo hunt booked for August and used my time at the ATA Show to search for the best gear for that ambitious quest. At the top of my list is the Barnett Hyper Raptor T-REX, with a speed as fearsome as its name suggests. This new bow launches at 440 fps and shoots Barnett’s Hyperflite arrows that are just .204 inches in diameter. I’ll opt for a heavier broadhead than for whitetail deer, yet I believe that the combination of 440 fps speed, the .204 diameter shaft, and a two-blade broadhead will shoot completely through the buffalo. Incidentally, this is the same crossbow we are offering in our current giveaway, so be sure to sign up.
