Food Plot Tools
  • Facebook
Two years ago, I hired a company to open up my woods and create three food plots on my property. They did an amazing job, and before leaving, they used a harley rake to prepare the soil. This made it easy for me to sow seeds, and as a result, my food plots thrived and looked great. However, since then, I’ve struggled with hard, compacted soil in those plots. I’ve been searching online for solutions and believe I’ve found the right attachment for my John Deere tractor that will make maintaining my plots much easier.

Kunz Engineering
Kunz Engineering offers four models of chisel plows that are compatible with ATVs, UTVs, and tractors equipped with a 3-point tillage tool. I spent a significant amount of time researching chisel plows and watching videos on how they operate. When I reached out to Kunz Engineering, I spoke with Matt, the owner, about their products. Matt generously took nearly half an hour to answer my questions and explain the features of his chisel plows. After our conversation, I was convinced that I needed to order a Kunz Chisel Plow.

Christmas in March
I’m thrilled to share that I recently ordered the Kunz 3-Point Chisel Plow Till-Ease Model 543T! Kunz kept me updated with multiple emails and a tracking number, which made the wait so much easier. Just under ten days later, it arrived at my doorstep! I’m really excited to unbox it and connect it to my John Deere 1025R. This is going to be a fantastic addition to my toolkit!

Why Kunz?
The Kunz 3-Point Chisel Plow Till-Ease Model 543T is an excellent choice for my John Deere 1015 R, as it is specifically designed for compact tractors with 20 to 40 horsepower. Here are some of the key features of the 543T:
  • Tillage Width: 43 inches
  • Category 1 Standard 3-Point Hitch, Quick Hitch Compatible
  • 5 Front Cutting Coulters
  • 5 Rear Shanks
  • Rigid shanks for improved ground penetration
  • Tilling Depth: Capable of tilling up to 8 inches deep
  • Narrow chisel points and 9-inch wide field cultivator sweeps
The Kunz 543T offers an excellent and powerful tilling solution for small tractors! I can’t wait to show you how the chisel plow works. In the meantime, feel free to check out Kunz Engineering’s website and discover their amazing selection of products. You won’t be disappointed!
