Regional Breakdown
“When examined on a regional scale, clear differences emerge in the amount of time hunters spend afield before filling a tag. Hunters in the West required the fewest days on average, at just 11, followed by the Midwest at 13. Hunters in the Southeast were consistent with the national average, requiring about 15 days afield, while the Northeast stood apart, with hunters needing an average of 22 days to successfully harvest a deer,” as reported by NDA.
