Huntworth Camo- Great Now and for Fall
  • Facebook

Neal Ash started Huntworth® as a hunting apparel brand in 2001 with one goal: to make quality technical hunting clothing for passionate hunters at an affordable price. Over the course of two decades, Huntworth® has continued to push itself to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of our customers. What started as a hunting clothing company with a passion for premier products and camo patterns has grown into Huntworth® Gear – offering edgy, technical gear that performs at the top of its class, without breaking the bank. To celebrate 25 years in business, I ordered a full set of camouflage for my South Dakota turkey hunt, but the shipping was delayed, and I received the set upon my return.  Luckily, the local season is still in for two weeks.

Technical Design

I love vest pockets, and I was delighted to see that my lightweight, wicking hunting jacket had a vest pocket with a handy, quick-access zipper.  This is the best place to store critical gear, such as a rangefinder, small binoculars, or a cell phone.  It’s always right at your fingertips and can be accessed with minimal movement.

Water Resistant

The reinforced knee and seat fabric would have been perfect for my South Dakota hunt because it rained nearly every day.  Additionally, crawling through brush and dead cactus can be murder on knees, and the reinforced fabric gives the gear a serious look as well as extra protection.

Gloves with the Right Touch

In the turkey woods, a hunter’s quickest giveaway of his position comes from hand movement, and I specifically asked for gloves. These Ames lightweight hunting gloves not only had great stretch and fit, but the fingertips were removable for a critical feel when nocking arrows, shooting a release, or working the safety and trigger of a crossbow.

Zippers that Work and Secure Gear

The Durham Lightweight hunting pants have cargo pockets that zip, the perfect place for gloves and light gear that needs to be in easy reach.  The zipper ties were easy to locate, and the zipper worked quietly and smoothly.

Eight Pattern Choices

I ordered my gear in “Tamen” camouflage, which is lighter than many patterns.  Personally, I believe the lighter, nearly white patches do a better job of breaking up the human silhouette.  Huntworth offers eight camouflage patterns, so there is bound to be one that matches your habitat.

For Fall and Full Season

Whenever buying camouflage, the insulation needed for colder weather is always a consideration.  My personal system opts for lighter outer layers because I can use other insulating gear underneath, even though they are not camouflaged.  I have an old Browning down coat that is more than 40 years old, yet it still insulates and is often tucked under my outer camo layer.  For the full line of hunting gear, visit www.Huntworthgear.com
