The Week #6 Turkey Challenge was paused for a week due to website maintenance. If you’re ready to resume the challenge, here’s what you can expect this week. I finally managed to get outside and shoot because the weather was pleasant. It was sunny and windless, making it ideal for the challenge. Everything went smoothly, and I’m excited to share my experience with you!

10,15,20,25 Yard Challenge
The Week #6 Challenge is a lot of fun! I want to thank Fletch Flex for being the week #6 sponsor. Grab your bow, a seat, and a turkey target, then head outside. I recommend using the Big Shot Walking Turkey target for this challenge because it is life-size.
First, set up your seat and place the turkey target at 10 yards. From your seated position, shoot one arrow at the target, focusing on hitting the vital areas. After shooting at 10 yards, check your shot placement and remove your arrow from the target. Once you’re done, return to your seat and prepare for your second shot.
Move the turkey target back to 15 yards and repeat the shot process. Focus on the vital areas. If you can’t see the vitals, locate the turkey’s leg and follow it up to the center of the body. Concentrate on squeezing the trigger to release your arrow. After shooting, go to the target to check your shot placement, retrieve your arrow, and then head back to your seat.
Before taking your third shot, move the target back to 20 yards. At this distance, the turkey will appear smaller, which may lead to target panic if you can’t clearly see the vitals. Focus on the center mass of the turkey and gently squeeze the trigger to take your shot. Afterward, check your arrow to see if it hit the mark.
The fourth shot will be aimed at a turkey target positioned 25 yards away. This can be a challenging distance if you’re not accustomed to shooting at turkey targets. The turkey will appear quite small from your vantage point, making it difficult to see the vital areas. If your shot is slightly off, you may miss the vitals altogether.
Take your time during your draw, find your anchor point, let the pin settle on the target, and gently squeeze for a solid shot. After you shoot, walk up to the target to check your accuracy.
Practice these four shot distances every day for a week, and you’ll notice significant improvement. If you prefer not to shoot from a seated position, try shooting from your knees to see how you perform.
I hope you do well this week. If you missed any of the challenges, you can find the links below.
