The word going around along the East Coast of the United States is, “Ticks are really bad this year!” Everyone is discussing ticks and how to avoid bites. The Lone Star Tick is being blamed for spreading Alpha-gal syndrome, which makes it difficult for some people to consume red meat, dairy, and other products derived from mammals. I’ve been researching ways to protect myself from ticks while hunting and came across a new company that sells tick sprays specifically designed to keep them away.

Zone Protects Products
Last October, I had the unfortunate experience of being bitten by a tick. Although I’m not sure how long the tick had been attached, I was fortunate to remove it completely. I called my family doctor for a prescription and was relieved that I didn’t see a red bullseye mark. After that incident, I decided to look for products I could apply to my clothes and skin to ensure the best protection against ticks. My search led me to a company called Zone Protects, which offers a variety of products I felt confident trying.

Zone Realtree Unscented Repellent Wipes
Zone Protects offers fantastic unscented wipes that are perfect for direct use on your skin. These wipes provide protection for up to 12 hours without leaving any oily residue. Proudly FDA-approved and completely odor-free, they’re gentle and safe for your skin. Each canister comes with 80 durable towelettes, ensuring lasting usage. Plus, the formula features 20% Picaridin and is completely DEET-free, making it a smart choice for your outdoor adventures!

Zone Realtree Picaridin Insect Repellant
The Realtree Picaridin Insect Repellent spray is available in a 10-ounce bottle with a convenient mistosol application. The mistosol button is easy to use, and one bottle lasts a long time. Similar to the wipes, this 10-ounce bottle of Picaridin Insect Repellent is non-oily when applied to the skin. The mistosol feature allows for precise application across your skin.

Zone RealTree Outfitters Permethrin Spray
Permethrin is one of the most effective products for protecting against ticks, but it should not come in direct contact with your skin. Instead, it is best used on clothing. Zone Protects offers a 10-ounce mistosol bottle that you can apply to your clothes for long-lasting protection. This Permethrin spray remains effective for up to five washes and provides protection for up to 40 days.

Testing Ground
I’m excited to share that I got some Zone Protect products to gear up for my spring turkey hunt in Kentucky! My friend Lee was super helpful, warning me about the pesky ticks in the area and suggesting I bring a reliable spray for protection. The day before my trip, I made sure to treat both the inside and outside of my hunting clothes. On the morning of my first hunt, I used the wipes on my skin before getting dressed, and they worked like a charm—no oily residue at all!
I spent the entire weekend hunting, fully confident in the products I chose. As I trekked through a power line brimming with chest-high underbrush, I braced myself for a tick invasion. To my delight, I was pleasantly surprised! Meanwhile, my two friends dealt with a tick count of their own—Lee found 17 on himself! I felt fortunate and relieved, discovering not a single tick on me.

Kentucky Success

I had an incredible experience hunting longbeards in Kentucky with my friends! I was really impressed by how effectively Zone Protects products kept the ticks away. I wholeheartedly recommend their products for anyone who loves the outdoors!
